Social media users couldn’t believe their eyes when they discovered how super fashionable sliders are made thanks to a factory uplaoding the process on TikTok
Social media users were left stunned after they realised how their favourite flip-flops are actually made.
A video posted to TikTok showed the intricate work that goes into crafting the comfy footwear to produce the finished item that then goes in your shopping basket. Many users could not believe the process as they watched on in awe while workers in a factory made the items.
The footage shows tiny beads of rubber being meticulously weighed and measured out into individual cups for each shoe before they are taken and poured into a large metal press. Each shape on the press forms a mould for a slider with the lid going down for a few seconds once the particles have been carefully poured in.
The worker is then seen lifting the lid as they expanded beads have magically moulded together and transformed into the footwear. The video shows more of the process as excess rubber is trimmed off and the shoes are printed with a stamp to emboss them with slogans and symbols.
Gobsmacked viewers of the video rushed to the comments section as they discussed what they could see in the clip. One wrote: “My brain cannot understand how it puffs up,” as another joked “There goes your Yeezy slides that you paid 200 for..”
More viewers of the clip shared their thoughts as one typed: “When they’re making flip flops they are using gloves but not in making food?” Another shared: “Everyone talking about cleanliness and gloves… I’m worried about the chemicals they are breathing all day.”
A third posted: “No wonder why my Nike ones shrunk in the sun .” A fourth social media user commented: “I can’t get over that one flip flop that’s missing a grain cause it fell into another spot. I’m not buying that first slipper because it was one plastic pebble short in compared to the others.”
A fifth pointed out the cleanliness in the factory as they said: “When they’re making flip flops they are using gloves but not in making food? Their factory is cleaner than the ones that actually make food.”
