Optical illusions are a great way to keep your mind sharp and get competitive with family and friends – and this one has been labelled ‘best’ people have seen in a ‘long time’

Optical illusions are a fun way to have your mind blown.

Looking at puzzles and completing them each day can really help keep your mind in tip-top condition. The great thing is, if you’re not so good at them, with practice, you can become a whizz, and you’ll be able to show off your newfound skills to family and friends.

People have had their eyes opened by this wild optical illusion, however, because upon first glance, it seems as though the black and white image you’re looking at is full of diagonal lines. But it turns out that’s not the case at all.

Taking to Reddit’s ‘Optical Illusions’ forum, someone posted that the “lines are all straight”, and then posted a second picture to prove it – because it really doesn’t look that way at first glance.

In the comments, people were baffled by the revelation, with one writing: “Wow, this is the best one I’ve seen in a long time. They are indeed all straight, it is impossible for me to tell looking at it straight on but you can tell if you look at it at an angle.”

Another added: “Wow, pretty dramatic effect. Thanks.” Someone else shared: “Me and my lazy eye are having a terrible time looking at this, I can see it perfectly fine with one eye, but when I try to use both eyes, feels like they’re being pulled away lmao, and I’ve got very good control over it according to my optometrist.”

A Redditor suggested: “Just zoom in on the image. You can see it’s straight. Then slowly zoom out and figure out when your mind crashes.”

Others said it was “so simple but so good”, and “The red lines don’t help at all, still looks wonky lol”.

Could you tell that the lines were straight? Let us know in the comments.
