Explorers visit Britain’s most haunted school

A group of ghost hunters were left petrified after visiting Britain’s most haunted school.

Tony Ferguson and his friends were left unnerved after hearing whistling and footsteps in the former classrooms of the abandoned boarding school.

They also reported hearing children’s voices uttering ‘Hey’ and ‘Yeah’ in the corridors. Tony, 39, visited George Jarvis School with fellow investigators Bev Ferguson, Sue Robinson, Adam Clark, and Paul Cissell.

The school, which catered to less fortunate families, is located in Staunton On Wye, Herefordshire. It opened its doors in 1862 but was closed in 2010 after briefly serving as a youth hostel.

Tony and his team decided to investigate the school following numerous reports of paranormal activity. Tony said: “This is known as the most haunted school in the UK. As there are very few schools that can be booked out as a venue for investigations, we knew we had to visit.”

Tony, who works as a personal trainer during the day, has been hunting ghosts for 16 years. He added: “We did not want to know the history of the school, but wanted to go in blind to see for ourselves what we would encounter in the evening.

“During our investigation, we heard children’s voices in the cellar and in the upper rooms of the school, which we all heard. We heard loud footsteps in one of the rooms with us, the room next to us which was locked off to the public, we heard the same loud footsteps walking around.”

“We also heard some strange noises, taps and bangs throughout the evening that we could not find a source for. We tried to find an explanation for a lot of these things but were unable to.”

Tony, aka. The Ghost Whisperer, of Lymington, Hampshire, said: “I went in expecting nothing, but was quite shocked by what we encountered… as was the team. I would easily put this among my top locations in the country, as there were so many things I cannot explain.”
