The man murdered in Walthamstow on Saturday, July 6, has been named for the first time. Thirty-three-year-old Josh McKay, a father of two, was fatally stabbed on Lea Bridge Road on Saturday afternoon.
Police were called to the scene shortly before 3pm, along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and the London Air Ambulance. However, Mr McKay died at the scene.
While formal identification hasn’t yet taken place, detectives investigating today named Mr McKay as the victim of the stabbing. The 33-year-old was the father of two children, and lived in Waltham Forest.

His family have said: ““The heart of our family has stopped beating. The World is less bright without his beautiful smile.” They are being supported by specialist officers.
On Sunday, July 7, police officers arrested a 38-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender. She remains in custody.
However, the Metropolitan Police are still carrying out enquiries and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley from the Specialist Crime Command said: “Our investigation is making progress and we have now made an arrest.
“We are continuing to carry out extensive enquiries, including a review of CCTV footage, and our colleagues from the local policing team remain in the area.
“However, we still need your help. Two children have been left without a father. If you saw anything, or have information regarding the person who killed Josh, please do the right thing and call us, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.”
