No one likes parallel parking but it’s one of those things we must do behind the wheel.
It can get nerve-wracking to do the manoeuvre on a main road or when you’ve got a car full of family and friends. For some drivers, it comes easily, while others probably need to switch the music down to concentrate.
Now fear not as there’s a simple 20-second trick which can help you nail your parking every single time. Over on TikTok, user @master_driver666 shared a handy hack with her 771,900 followers. Her caption read: “99% of people don’t know how to side parking.”
In her 22-second clip, she shows how to align your car with the other vehicle’s door. Then once you’ve found the point, you can slowly make the manoeuvre without having to stress that you’d be far away from the kerb. And as you’re turning into the spot, there’s another spot to align which will allow perfect parking.
With the handy hack, it’s important to make sure you slow down the process and check all your mirrors. So once you’ve done all your checks, you can safely park in the spot without any trouble. Since the video was shared, it scooped 700 likes and dozens of shares.
But not all the commentary was positive, despite the huge amount of shares the post received. One questioned: “Um what if there’s a station wagon there?” While another slammed: “Utter nonsense.” Well next time you’re stressed about parallel parking, why not give this trick a go?
