Amazon Prime users warned of sly membership scam

As previously reported by the Mirror, cunning scammers may take advantage of eager Prime Day customers by sending fake emails or texts urging them to renew their subscription, which they claim is about to expire. Those targeted may also be urged to make a payment for a Prime renewal that doesn’t exist.

The crooks behind this sly scam are after stealing sensitive information such as login credentials or payment details, so make sure you keep yours safe. According to Amazon, Amazon emails will always come from an email address that ends in: @amazon.co.uk (e.g. [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]), so make sure to check the sender’s address carefully.

Amazon has also emphasised that they would never ask customers to email over any personal information to be, or update payment information that isn’t linked to their Amazon orders or services. Look after yourself, and happy shopping.
