Valley Fest celebrates 10 year anniversary
Brits are raving about the UK’s ‘most beautiful’ festival that will celebrate its 10th anniversary this August.
Valley Fest, held at the UK’s fifth biggest lake, has wowed festival-goers with its stunning location and star-studded line-up. Based in Chew Calley Lake, a reservoir in Somerset, the festival runs from August 1-4 and features musical legends including Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Tinie Tempah, and The Feeling.
There’s also DJ sets from the acclaimed Phil Hartnol, Mungo’s Hi-fi, Chainska Brassika and Supalung if you’re looking to dance the night away. In the day, there’s plenty to do if you’re not nursing a hangover, including comedy gigs and cooking classes. Parents need not worry, as Valley Fest is also hosting a Junior Jungle too – a mini rave getting the little ones prepped for the party life.
Regenerative farmer Luke Hasell set up the festival back in 2014 in honour of his parents. He’s raised more than £70,000 for charity so far and has partnered with former Glasto supporters Yeo Valley and Arcadia.
“Eclectic as ever – from pop to rock, disco to DJs and everything in between, everyone needs to get on my land and celebrate our big birthday,” he said. “Packed with wholesome fun, families – you’ll find something for your toddlers, teens, parents and grandparents.”
Hasell also aims to add an ‘educational element’ to this year’s festival, organising talks on regrenerative farming and how to look after the land and soil.

But the festival’s pièce de résistance comes in the evening, when the sun sets over the lake and casts its orange glow for as far as the eye can see. There’s then a performance from a Rolls Royce jet engine called ‘Afterburner’ and an electrifying act from the ‘Lord of Lightning’.
Social media users were quick to express their excitement for the upcoming festival, one user declaring: “Can’t wait, the most beautiful festival in the UK by far.” Another wrote: “Looking good,” while a third added: “Can’t wait.”
Tickets are priced at £154.99 plus a booking fee.
