From upgrades, to what not to drink and how to avoid turbulence, former flight attendant-turned-Instagram star Lorna Luxe has shared a list of hacks to improve your flight journey
A former flight attendant has shared where is best to sit on a flight to avoid the worst motion of turbulence.
Lorna Andrews, aka Lorna Luxe, worked as an air hostess before changing her career path to fashion and influencing.
Reflecting on her many years as part of a cabin crew, she’s now shared a list of hacks that could improve your flight experience.
Discussing the best place to sit for a more peaceful journey, Lorna shared: “You need to sit forward of the wing if you don’t want any turbulence because that turbulence, that wing and behind the wing, that tail really flaps.”
Addressing whether or not buying the staff chocolates for an upgrade does actually work, Lorna told those thinking about trying their luck not to bother.
Instead, she advised: “I tell you what is a really good hack, if you’re travelling on a full flight with someone else, and you’re angling for an upgrade, put yourselves in seats that aren’t together.
“Then when you get to check in say, ‘Oh my god it’s our wedding anniversary’ or whatever, ‘Is there any chance you can put us together?'”
Lorna said that while it’s unlikely that they will put you together particularly on a full flight, they might be able to “bump you up”.
Additionally, the former flight attendant shared why you should avoid drinking tea on the plane, especially if the aircraft is over 15 years old.
While the hot drink may help you relax on the flight, Lorna said it’s not the most hygienic. She explained: “It is because those tanks never get cleaned.
“Say the aircraft is like 15 years old, I mean, it’s up to you but I wouldn’t drink it, I wouldn’t even do a cup-of-soup.” Instead, Lorna joked that passengers should “stick to alcohol”, when quizzed on the Should I Delete That? podcast.
