American Emma Grace and her Memama spurred a new viral trend, creating ‘Fluffy Coke’ from just two ingredients
A new drink recipe has taken social media by storm – a sugary take on a regular Coke. Dubbed ‘Fluffy Coke’, the trend sees cola fans slather a glass full of a popular American treat, marshmallow fluff.
TikTok star Emma Grace, from Florida, US, known as @not-eg, regularly makes content with her Memama. In a video from earlier this month they concocted the new drink phenomenon, being one of the first people to make it. Starting off you’ll need your pick of cola, whether you’re a Coke or Diet Coke fan. You’ll also need a tub of marshmallow fluff.
Firstly, Emma explained, you need to spread the marshmallow fluff on the inside of a cup or glass. Then fill up the glass with ice.
They then pour a can of original Coke into their cups, before swirling the drink around with a straw. Emma rated the Fluffy Coke a ten out of ten, with Memama agreeing. Emma said: “I could drink like four of these.”
Emma’s video has been viewed over a whopping four million times, racking up 302,300 likes and 1,865 likes. TikTok fans rushed into the comments, saying they “must have it”.
Caroline said: “As someone from the northeast this is WILD but I’m gonna try it.” Emilia said: “I need to try! I feel like orange Fanta or Dr.Pepper would be so good too.”
User ‘Lovely on the Inside’ said: “I have never heard of such a thing and now I must have it.”
An anonymous user said: “You’ve unlocked a new pregnancy craving for me. Time to go outside and cry to my husband,” while Easi commented, “It’s better with ice cream and coke little bit of fluff too.” Lizzy added: “If she likes fluff make her a fluffanutter New England delicacy just peanut butter and fluff on white bread chefs kiss.”
Kim Shapira, a dietitian, nutritional therapist, and author, told Delish that if a fluffy Coke becomes your new favourite drink, there could be a few problems. If you regularly drink the viral beverage, excessive sugar can “cause you to feel fatigued [and] probably nauseous”. There’s also a possibility of developing tooth decay.
