A woman has described the moment two London Overground passengers were ‘harassed and threatened’ with ‘disgusting’ homophobic abuse.
Posting to the Crystal Palace Local Facebook group, the woman claimed a couple were subjected to a ‘hate crime’ just before midday on May 5, riding between Crystal Palace and Highbury and Islington, now known as the Windrush line.
The woman wrote: “I was a witness to a disgusting hate crime on the train (from CP to Highbury and Islington) this morning at approx 11:45. I completely forgot to get the details of the couple who were being harassed and threatened.
“I’ve now reported this to the police and they have a photo of the guy who was threatening them and then all the other women in vicinity.
“If that couple are on here please reach out to me or the police because once they have a victim they can take it much further, especially with regard to the poor child who was under his care.”
