RandB singer Chris Brown has been arrested following an alleged incident that took place at a London nightclub in February 2023. Arrested by Met Police detectives at the five-star Lowry Hotel in Manchester in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, May 15), the 36-year-old American musician was taken into custody over an alleged bottle attack that took place over two years ago.

The musician reportedly arrived at Manchester Airport via private jet on Wednesday afternoon before being arrested by Metropolitan Police detectives who travelled from London to take Brown into custody. Reports in The Sun state that Brown was being held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abe Diaw at the exclusive Tape nightclub in Mayfair, Central London, in February 2023.

A statement from the Met Police said: “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been taken into custody where he remains.”

The statement added: “The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023. The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.”

The attack is alleged to have taken place during the UK leg of Brown’s 2023 world tour. The singer, who is due to play 10 dates across the UK in June as part of his Breezy Bowl XX Tour, could see his plans disrupted by the ongoing police investigation.

Announcing the tour in March, Brown said on social media: “CELEBRATING 20 years of CB. So excited to be able to share this moment with the world and my amazing fans.. I CANT WAIT TO SEE ALL YALLS BEAUTIFUL FACES. IMA TAKE YALL THREW THESE ERAS BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY GIVE YALL MY HEART AND SOUL.”

The tour is due to begin in Amsterdam on June 8, before the UK leg begins. Chris Brown is due to be joined by Summer Walker on the American leg of the tour, while Bryson Tiller will join him in Europe and the UK.

His UK dates include two nights at the Co-Op Live stadium in Manchester, Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur’s Stadium in London and Birmingham, Glasgow and Dublin.
