Boy, 6, killed and 6 other children in hospital after minibus overturns in horror M4 crash

A child died and six other kids were left in A&E following a horror crash on the M4 last week. The white Ford Transit minibus overturned whilst leaving the eastbound junction 10 exit slip road onto the A329M, near Wokingham on Sunday (May 11).

No other vehicles were involved. A six-year-old boy died at the scene while six other children are in hospital with serious injuries. One of the six children is in a critical condition.

Other minibus riders were left with minor injuries and have been discharged from hospital. There have been no arrests.

Thames Valley Police Detective Sergeant Lyndsey Blackaby said: “Firstly, I want to offer my deepest condolences to the family of the child who sadly died in this collision. A full investigation has been launched in order to understand what caused the collision.

“We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to it, to please get in touch. Anyone with any dash-cam footage, please upload it to our dedicated online portal.

“Anyone who has information should call 101 or make an online report, via our website, quoting reference number 43250230402. Alternatively, you can provide information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
