The Met Office has forecast exactly when it will get hot again as temperatures begin to dip. Forecasters at The Met Office predict that it will be Tuesday (May 20) when thermostats start picking up again, reaching highs of 23C.
It comes after we had the hottest start to May on record with temperatures peaking at a scorching 29.3C at Kew Gardens. But the scorching weather isn’t to last as after Tuesday things will dip to as low as 8C.
And it will only get worse with downpours predicted. The Met Office’s long range forecast reads: “Temperatures during this time are likely to continue to be above normal for the time of year. Into the bank holiday weekend and following week, a change in weather type is expected.
“More unsettled conditions are likely to develop, with weather systems moving in from the Atlantic. This will bring spells of rain to many areas, perhaps heavy at times, with a risk of strong winds in places.”
