Mashed potatoes are a luxurious addition to the Sunday roast, and they pair perfectly with British classics like toad in the hole and shepherd’s pie. But if you’re on the hunt for the ultimate creamy mashed potato recipe that doesn’t require a pantry full of ingredients, a TikTok creator claims she has the answer.

Food content creator Massara shares “easy recipes and pack lunches” on her TikTok page @simplymasarra, where she has amassed an impressive following. She says that her mashed potato recipe delivers “the most delicious creamy mash”. And as an added bonus, these creamy spuds only require three ingredients, plus salt and pepper for seasoning.

The recipe is also straightforward, consisting of just five steps, so even the most inexperienced cooks can try it at home, reports the Express.

Massara explained that to start, you need to cube and boil your potatoes in a pan of water with a pinch of salt. “They take about 20 minutes,” she advised. Next, Massara drains the water from her potatoes and mashes them. Then it’s time to add some milk.

You can use any type of milk you prefer, though the cook recommends using 150mls. “Don’t worry, ” she added. “This isn’t too much.”

Once your milk is in, combine the milk and potatoes and give it another good mash. Massara then mixes in two tablespoons of olive oil, before seasoning with salt and pepper.

“Then you are done,” she said. “Enjoy.”
