The Duke and Duchess of Sussex being ‘downgraded’ on the Buckingham Palace website to a shorter and joint biography is a ‘clear indication’ they ‘can’t come back’ to the UK and the royal family
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the UK has been “ruled out” in a major sign from Kensington Palace, the home of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appear to have been “downgraded” on the Buckingham Palace website the day after Kate filmed her heartfelt video, where instead of having separate profiles they now have a shorter joint biography. A commentator now claims that the move to condense the appearance of Harry and Meghan on the official royal website is “not a coincidence” and was a decision made in line with the Princess of Wales releasing the news of her cancer diagnosis via a moving video.
At the end of last week, Princess Catherine revealed to the world that she had been diagnosed with cancer. The announcement came after weeks of speculation after the Princess underwent abdominal surgery at The London Clinic earlier this year. It now appears that the decision to shorten the appearance of Meghan and Harry on the royal website was taken to ‘make it clear that they can’t come back’.

Speaking on GB News, presenter Andrew Pierce explained: “It is not a coincidence because the Princess of Wales filmed that video on Wednesday and that announcement about them being downgraded was on Thursday. So it all happened at the same time. They’ve just made it clear in case people think Harry and Meghan can come back. No, it’s not happening. There’s no chance of it happening because they are not working members of the Royal Family anymore. They’ve made their decision and that’s it.”
There had been previous thoughts that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could aim to make a return to the UK this year as part of their plans to build their brand and the couple are said to be looking for new PR representation in the UK. Speaking on a podcast, royal editor Rebecca English explained how Meghan has launched her new business American Riviera Orchard which could form part of her plans to return to the UK and to hopefully repair their relationship with the royal family and also the British public.
Speaking on an episode of Palace Confidential, the Daily Mail royal editor explained: “I suspect it’s also got something to do with the big plans that we’re hearing about that Meghan is going to launch this big commercial project. I presume this commercial project will have some sort of residence in this country.”
However it would appear that if Meghan and Harry wanted to return to the UK they would gave a lot of work to do to win back favour in Britain. The couple’s popularity has recently plummeted according to a poll which sees just 11% of those asked name Prince Harry as the royal they liked the most. Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex only came in at 7%. But despite the Sussexes ranking very low in the new Ipsos poll for The Evening Standard, they did however rank higher than three members of the Royal Family.
