Prince Harry is due to give a speech at an anniversary event for the Invictus Games in London in May, and royal fans are hoping the Duke of Sussex will pay a visit to his estranged family
Prince Harry is planning to return to the UK in Maye but there is still a “question mark” over Meghan Markle being back in England.
The Duke of Sussex is set to speak at the Invictus Games 10th Anniversary Service at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on May 8, and a source revealed that while Harry is certain to attend, there is still doubt over whether Meghan will make the trip to London to support her husband.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the UK indefinitely in January 2020, as they relocated to the US following their exit from the Royal Family. They have returned a handful of times, but only to huge royal events, such as the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, and her funeral later that same year. Harry has travelled back to the UK for several solo trips, including the coronation of his father King Charles in May last year, and he is preparing to come back to London in May for a special event.

“The dates and details are being kept very hush-hush, but the Invictus Games 10th Anniversary Service has now been confirmed at St. Paul’s Cathedral on May 8,” the source told Express. “Both Harry and Meghan are listed as guests and a speech has been scheduled, but there is still a question mark over whether Meghan will make an appearance. Her name has been pencilled in as a TBC (to be confirmed).”
The 39-year-old launched the Invictus Games in 2014, and there are reports that Harry is currently in negotiations with the British government to get them to host the games in Birmingham in 2027. After the Duke made the trip back to London in February following his father’s cancer diagnosis, he vowed to make frequent return visits to see his estranged family after the devastating health news.
“Look, I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that. I’ve got other trips planned that will take me through the UK, or back to the UK, and so I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can,” Harry told ABC News last month.
Harry and Meghan are also reportedly hoping to boost their public image in the UK, and there is speculation the couple will use the grand event in central London to try and “repair relations” with the public, and with the Royal Family. “This event is being seen as a very important part of Harry and Meghan’s rehabilitation,” the source continued. “It will be a good starting point for the Sussexes to repair relations with the royal family and the British people at the same time.”
