A TikToker was left astonished during her IKEA trip with her family after finding out her lunch outing, which included four main meals and desserts, only cost under £30 – but there’s a catch.
Whether you’re making lunch plans with friends or looking for some furniture, IKEA’s got your back. And it seems their affordability caught some customers by surprise.
As IKEA’s cheap prices on foods have made the furniture-slash-food store the new go-to spot for many, a family of four where completely stunned after finding out their total bill came up to be just £27.
TikTok user Grumpy Northern Foodie (@grumpynorthernfoodie) posted her family outing at an IKEA UK store. After a day of shopping, the family had ordered different dishes from the menu, including pasta, the famous meatballs and fish and chips. Flabbergasted by the amount she had paid, she urged her followers to visit their nearest store.

In the one-minute video, she captioned it: “Right folks, who wants fish & chips for just £3? It’s gotta be @IKEA @IKEAUK cafe.” She then revealed that the total bill for four main plates came up to be under £30.”
She added throughout the clip: “What a meal filling. Tasty. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Pretty decent. Good value for money. Desserts.”
From June 5, 2025, to August 29, 2025, IKEA Family members can get up to 50% off all main meals and children’s meals across all IKEA restaurants in the UK. For example, if the price for a plate of fish & chips is £6.95, it will go down to £3. However, there’s a catch.

To be eligible for the perks, shoppers must sign up and become IKEA Family members. It doesn’t involve membership fees, and it comes with a lot of benefits. These include: discounts, free hot drinks, workshops and events, and a ‘just-in-case protection’, which protects any of your purchases that might break on the way home or during its assembly.
