Prince Louis was spotted ‘photobombing’ his father Prince William in sweet photo as the Prince of Wales prepared to take part in the Trooping the Colour ceremony at Buckingham Palace
In anticipation of Saturday’s Trooping the Colour celebration for King Charles’ official birthday, the palace has unveiled some behind-the-scenes snaps of the Prince and Princess of Wales preparing to depart from Buckingham Palace. The Royal pair are pictured with their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, all of whom have significant roles in the parade.
Kate, donned in aquamarine, is captured standing on a staircase with her children: daughter Charlotte, clad in a blue dress to match her mother, and sons George and Louis, both sporting matching navy suits with red ties. They are then seen seated in a carriage, ready to partake in the parade.
Meanwhile, Prince William is featured in his own photo, dressed in full uniform as he prepared himself to follow the procession on horseback alongside other senior royals such as Princess Anne and Prince Edward.
Alongside his scarlet tunic and bearskin cap, adorned with a green and white hackle, the Prince’s uniform boasts gold braiding on his shoulder, known as an aiguillette, signifying his role as an Aide-de-Camp to the King.
Also visible are the embroidered leeks on his collar, indicating his position as Colonel of the Welsh Guards, and his blue sash, denoting his membership of the Order of the Garter.
However, some keen-eyed fans also caught a glimpse of Prince Louis in the background, observing his father as he seemingly got into position with his horse.
Social media was soon flooded with comments highlighting this delightful moment, with one user sharing: “The Prince of Wales ahead of Trooping the Colour ceremony this morning! Look at Prince Louis watching his Papa in the background to.”
Many people expressed their joy at spotting the young royal, with some pondering how he will follow in his father’s footsteps in the years to come.
“His son will be racking up those medals before he’s been fitted for his first uniform,” one person commented, while another wrote: “Louis turn will come to ride at this event.”
Someone else said: “I love how Prince Louis is leaning in the doorway watching.
“Such a beautiful picture,” a third person wrote.
Others also drew attention to the details of Prince William’s uniform, with some speculating about the weight of his bearskin hat.
“He must get hot under that fur hat (I’m not sure what they are called),” one viewer noted, while another added: “Gonna be hot under that hat.”
Additionally, someone pointed out the black armband King Charles had requested all royals to wear, commenting: “…and I see he is wearing a black armband in respect for all those who died in the plane crash disaster in India.”
