Oasis fans are being warned that sporting a bucket hat while driving to the band’s reunion concerts could result in a hefty fine. The Gallagher brothers are gearing up for a string of shows in Cardiff, Manchester and London in July, ahead of their worldwide tour.

The scramble for tickets has been immense, with devotees of all ages desperate to see the legendary Oasis duo perform classics like Live Forever and Wonderwall. With Liam and Noel Gallagher’s eagerly awaited comeback, this summer is shaping up to be an Oasis extravaganza.

The band’s signature style, which includes parka jackets and Adidas trainers, is just as iconic as their music. According to the Manchester Evening News, one essential piece of fan attire will be the bucket hat, a staple of the Mancunian rockers’ wardrobe throughout their fame.

However, motorists are being cautioned by motoring expert Graham Conway, managing director of Select Car Leasing, who said: “While it’s not illegal to wear a hat while you’re driving, there are rules around fashion items obstructing you while behind the wheel. Rule 97 of the Highway Code states you must have ‘footwear and clothing which does not prevent you using the controls in the correct manner’, while the Road Traffic Act says that anything obstructing a driver’s view is considered a hazard – including hats.”

He continued: “And because these bucket hats are generally pulled down low over the eyes to complete the look, that could be a serious problem when it comes to getting a full view of the road. You’ll be looking at a £100 fine for having an obstructed view – which could rise to £1,000 if the case goes to court.”

The same applies to flying flags or banners of your favourite band from the car windows on the way to a concert, reports the Daily Star.

Additionally, Oasis fans who prefer stylish trainers to watch the famous Champagne Supernova performers might want to think twice about wearing flip flops.

This is because such summer footwear is often discouraged by authorities due to its lack of grip and the risk of becoming trapped under pedals if they come off.
