Eggs are a key component of many diets, especially the keto diet, which prioritises a high-protein, low-carb balance. Those who’ve tried keto or paleo diets have likely become quite inventive with using eggs as a substitute for bread and other carbs, but there’s a limit to how many ways you can enjoy them.

If you’re tired of just adding salt and pepper to your boiled eggs, there’s a new tasty twist you might want to try.

Dubbed “lazy devilled eggs” by its creator, Caitlin Molyneux, the TikTok star explains that the recipe begins with boiling your eggs for about eight minutes to achieve firm whites and yolks.

In a clip shared on her TikTok account, Caitlin said that she opts for mayonnaise as the primary condiment for dressed boiled eggs.

But hold off on grabbing the Heinz or Hellman’s from your fridge as this particular recipe specifies Kewpie mayonnaise, hailing from Japan, reports the Express.

What sets Kewpie apart from regular mayonnaise is its exclusive use of egg yolks instead of whole eggs, along with rice or apple cider vinegar, resulting in a richer, creamier, and tangier taste.

You can pick up Kewpie mayonnaise at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose or online via Amazon.

To enhance the flavour further, Caitlin sprinkles fresh chives and paprika on top, assuring that the combination tastes “so good”.

How to make boiled eggs tastier

Boil your eggs for five to seven minutes if you prefer them medium-hard, while eight to 10 minutes will give you a perfectly hard-boiled egg.

Transfer the eggs from the boiling water to a bowl of ice-cold water for a couple of minutes.

While submerged, peel off the shells, then halve the eggs.

Serve them up with a dollop of Kewpie mayonnaise, snip some fresh chives over the top with scissors, and finish with a final flourish of paprika.

TikTok users who have tried the recipe are raving about how it’s transformed their experience of eating hard-boiled eggs with its delicious flavours.

One user said: “I’ve struggled with eating boiled eggs since I was little. The white throws me off. I’ve never ever enjoyed it; it was torture. I did this today and loved it!”.

Another said: “I stopped getting egg ick once I started dressing up my hard-boiled eggs! Thank you for this.”

And a third added: “Thank you for this! I literally was wondering what to do with all my chives and this was so goooood.”
