A man has been charged with murder after a man was shot dead with a shotgun outside a silent disco in Croydon four years ago. Leroy Mitchell, 35, was shot dead in a car park in Birdhurst Road, South Croydon, at around 5am on October 2, 2021.

The dad of three was pronounced dead at the scene. Cimarron Dume-Gooden, 32, of no fixed address was charged on Monday, June 16, with murdering Mr Mitchell and perverting the course of justice.

He was remanded into custody to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday, June 17).

In 2022, Leroy’s mum Maura said: “As a family our hearts are broken. We know that nothing will bring Leroy back, but we just want some answers. Leroy was a father, brother, uncle and friend to so many. Just like your family members I wouldn’t wish this feeling on anyone.”
