The breakdown of a relationship can be incredibly upsetting, regardless of the reasons, but one woman felt compelled to take revenge when her “cheating” ex kept using her Netflix account
A woman took the âperfectâ revenge on her âcheating exâ who kept using her Netflix account despite their breakup. Relationships can end for a multitude of reasons and, sometimes, those reasons are extremely distressing and painful.
A mutual separation thatâs handled maturely and respectfully is a goal of many once-happy couples looking to part ways. But, unfortunately, itâs not always the way a breakup goes down. When a partner cheats and betrays the trust of the person theyâre in a committed relationship with, the psychological trauma can run deep.
People can be left with serious trust issues and itâs very difficult for the separation to remain peaceful and civil. One woman learned her partner had been cheating on her and decided to take action after realising he was still using her Netflix account and watching the shows they used to watch together.
On the popular Petty Revenge forum on Reddit, the woman explained her response in a post titled âMy ex wouldnât stop using my Netflix, so I changed the profile name to âCHEATERâ and in toddler settingsâ.
Elaborating, she said: âSo yeah, my ex cheated and we broke up but apparently still felt entitled to my Netflix. Made a whole new profile like we werenât even broken up.
âWatched our shows. On my dime. I didnât yell, didnât revoke access but renamed the profile to âCheaterâ, switched it to toddler mode, just Peppa Pig, no violence, and max parental locks. Even the avatar was a sad cartoon monkey.â
After seeing what the woman had done, her ex simply texted her one word: âSeriously?â To which, she replied: âSeriously.â
After this final contact between them both, she changed her Netflix password and then âblocked himâ. On Reddit, she added: âEnjoy your cartoons, loser. Iâm watching Bridgerton in peace.â
In the comments section beneath her post, people were keen to share their thoughts – and their own streaming-themed revenge stories.
One person quipped: âNo Netflix ‘n no chill.â Another said: âI approve of thisâ.
A third commented: âI would have let him âalmostâ finish a season and then log him out and change passwordâ.
Someone else declared: âThis should be the default punishment for anyone that betrays their significant other.â
Another Redditor said: âNetflix and breaking up is a whole new genre of revenge stories by its ownâ.
And another shared: âI let my ex use my account for six months until winter set in where he lived and I heard from mutual friends he was snowed in. THEN I changed the passwordâ.
Someone else added: âI annoyed the hell out of my ex by locking him out of the Amazon account. He was really financially irresponsible and I didn’t want to risk him running up the credit card.
âI also didn’t want him to know where I was living so locking him out prevented him from seeing my shipping address. He was p****d because he was in the middle of some shows.â
