Guns N’ Roses fans slam ‘muffled nightmare’ sound quality at Wembley Stadium gig

Guns N’ Roses fans have been left less than impressed by the sound quality at Wembley Stadium, with many saying they may as well have stayed home. The veteran rockers played an epic three hour set of their greatest hits, from Paradise City and November Rain to karaoke classic Sweet Child O’ Mine during their London gig last night (Thursday, June 26).

However, concertgoers reported the first half was “a muffled nightmare” due to the speakers. Social media was flooded with complaints, including one disappointed ‘Gunner’ claiming it was the worst show he’d been to.

He said: “The sound engineer was terrible and needs a new job (ideally stacking shelves somewhere). Leave the music before the music leaves you fits Guns N’ Roses now. As a big fan, I was so let down.”

Another wrote: “Epic setlist, though it does sound better coming out of my phone now than it did in my ears at the time. The sound was not the best. Great to see Slash in full flow though.”

A third added: “Saw Guns N’ Roses for the first time tonight. Still absolutely phenomenal but the audio wasn’t the best with the vocals. Whoever was in charge of the sound was having a mare at certain points…,” with another X user noting: “2025 and sound is still getting blown around. Didn’t ruin gig for me but Wembley Stadium really does need to look into this.”

Even MyLondon’s very own Gunner had something to say about it, with Local Democracy Content Editor Dave Comeau, a fan of over 30 years, saying: “For about the first 45 minutes to an hour the sound was pretty bad. I thought the whole stadium was booing at one point but realised it was the echo from the speaker stacks behind me.

“It got much better after that and it did turn out to be an amazing gig. Given they did a 3-hour set they weirdly got away with an hour of crap sound, and seeing Slash tear it up with his trademark solos was pretty special.”

The American band, fronted by Axl Rose and legendary guitarist Slash, are now more than halfway through their Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things tour. They are still to play shows across Germany, Poland, Belgium and Scandinavia, before heading off on a Latin American leg in late-2025.

Along the way, the seven-piece group will be joined by hip-hop group Public Enemy and punk icons The Sex Pistols. They last played Wembley Stadium in 1992 as part of the Freddie Mercury tribute concert, alongside the likes of Brian May and Elton John.

Wembley Stadium has been contacted for comment regarding the sound complaints.
