3 dead and 2 in critical condition after horrific week of crime in London

London has been gripped by another wave of crime and tragedy over the past week after two fatal stabbings and a fatal shooting. 22-year-old Dara Omar was stabbed to death outside a mosque in Hounslow on Sunday, June 22 while reportedly trying to break up a fight.

Another fatal stabbing happened in Hackney Wick on Thursday night (June 26) when a woman aged in her 40s was knifed to death in Monier Road. The Metropolitan Police has confirmed a man aged in his 20s, and known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of her murder.

Less than 10 miles away, a teenager was shot dead in Enfield on the same evening. He was initially treated by paramedics but sadly died shortly afterwards in hospital.

Two men, aged 20 and 21, are still in a critical condition after being stabbed near Willesden Green station on Wednesday night. A 20-year-old man, who also suffered stab injuries in the incident, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Man stabbed to death ‘while trying to break up fight’

Dara Omar was knifed outside the Hounslow Muslim Centre on Hanworth Road on Sunday, June 22 whilst reportedly trying to break up a fight. Three men from Hounslow have since been charged in connection to the 22-year-old’s death.

Kaywan Warzier Karim, 27 and of Walnut Tree Road, was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon yesterday (June 25). This morning, Tania Hamza, 33 and Aziz Hama, 31, of Kingsley Road and Selbourne Avenue, respectively, were both charged with assisting an offender.

The Crown Prosecution Service granted an additional charge of violent disorder for Hamza. All three will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court later today. A 35-year-old man has also been taken into custody on suspicion of murder this morning.

Dara, who is from Brentford, was described by witnesses. as a “very good man” who had a job in the Menara Lounge on Hanworth Road where the ‘fight’ began.

One person said: “It’s so sad, he was only 22 and was trying to be a mediator in a fight that broke out between people outside the restaurant on the street. He was trying to break it up but got caught up in the fight.” Police have confirmed there is no link to the mosque near to where the attack happened.

Woman in her 40s killed in Hackney Wick as man ‘known to her’ arrested for murder

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was stabbed to death in Hackney Wick. Police rushed to Monier Road shortly after 11pm on Thursday, June 26

The victim, aged in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene when emergency workers arrived. Her next of kin are being supported by specialist officers. Scotland Yard has confirmed the suspected killer is known to the victim, and is currently being quizzed in police custody. Police say the incident is isolated and there is no threat to the wider community

Teenager killed in Enfield shooting

An 18-year-old man was tragically killed the same evening following a shooting in Enfield. Police were called to Great Cambridge Road at 8.45pm last night (Thursday, June 26) following reports of gunfire.

The teenager was treated at the scene and then rushed to hospital where he sadly later died. No arrests have been made so far in connection with the murder investigation Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD8393/26JUNE.

Two in critical condition after double stabbing

On Wednesday night two men, aged 20 and 21, suffered serious injuries after being stabbed near Willesden Green station. Police and paramedics rushed to Station Parade at 9pm following reports of the brawl.

A 20-year-old, who suffered less severe injuries, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Scotland Yard said specialist resources were sent to the area due to concerns about a potential chemical attack. These units have since been stood down after this was ruled out by police.

Officers added that the incident had no link to a mosque near to where the attacks happened and it is not being treated as terrorism.

Girl, 15, raped in underpass as police hunt attacker

Police have launched a manhunt after a 15-year-old girl was raped in an underpass in Romford. The attack happened on St Edwards Way, near The Brewery shopping centre on Sunday night (June 22).

Officers say the attack took place sometime before 11.35pm. No one has been arrested yet in connection with the incident.

Anyone with information relating to the rape is urged to contact 101, quoting 8238/22June.
