Prince Harry is due to speak at a special anniversary event celebrating 10 years since the launch of the Invictus Games, but its not yet been confirmed if Meghan Markle will also be attending

Meghan Markle is still yet to commit to joining Prince Harry on an upcoming visit to the UK, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex is scheduled to speak at the 10th anniversary celebration of the Invictus Games at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on May 8, and while Harry is one of the confirmed guests attending the ceremony, his wife’s presence is in doubt. According to reports, Meghan’s attendance is still “to be confirmed”, and royal expert and author Tom Quinn believes the mother-of-two won’t be returning to the UK with her husband.

“Harry knows he will have to come back to the UK now and then and he always feels safer and more secure if Meghan comes with him but she is not going to want to do it for the foreseeable future,” he told The Mirror. The former Suits star is currently busy preparing for the launch of her new lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, which was announced earlier this month, and there are also doubts over their children attending the special celebration.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet haven’t been in the UK since June 2022, when they returned to London for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and royal fans are hopeful the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will bring their children back to Harry’s native England. It was rumoured Harry and Meghan were keen to let their kids meet with grandparents King Charles and Camilla, after the monarch was diagnosed with cancer in February.

It’s not yet known if Harry and Meghan will meet with Princess Kate and Prince William while in the UK, following the Princess of Wales ’ admission she had been diagnosed with a type of cancer after undergoing major abdominal surgery in January. There has been no official confirmation if Archie and Lilibet will be accompanying their parents back to the UK in May, but royal fans are desperate for a sweet meeting to take place between the children and their cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Details of Harry and Meghan’s trip to London have been kept under wraps, and a source told Express.co.uk is “very anxious” about coming back to the UK after facing a serious backlash and online harassment during her time as a senior working royal. Speaking at the SXSW festival earlier this month, Meghan sadly revealed she had been targeted by cruel trolls while pregnant. “The bulk of the bullying and abuse that I was experiencing in social media and online, was when I was pregnant with Archie and with Lili,” she told the audience. “And you just think about that and really wrap your head around what people would be so hateful. It’s not catty, it’s cruel, why you would do that? Certainly when you’re pregnant and you have a newborn.”
