Saucony London 10k 2025- date, route, start time and road closures

Runners from across the UK are set to take over the capital on Sunday, July 13, with 17,000 runners ready to march their way to the Saucony London 10k finish line.

The Saucony London 10k race is the only closed-road running event that goes down Regent Street. The 10K starts on Piccadilly, heading past Piccadilly Circus and down Regent Street, offering views of its grand architecture. Runners then pass through Trafalgar Square before heading along the Thames Embankment, with sights like the London Eye and Big Ben. The route continues over Westminster Bridge and loops back past Westminster Abbey, finishing triumphantly on Whitehall.

Whether running or spectating, here’s everything you need to know for the big day:

When and where is it?

The Saucony London 10k race kicks off at 9.30am on Sunday, July 13. Participants should plan their journey well in advance, as thousands of runners and supporters will be making their way to the area.

Bag drop opens from 7.45am on the morning of the race, located at Waterloo Place, SW1Y 5ER. Runners are encouraged to arrive race ready to ease congestion. This means arriving without a bag and being able to head straight to the start line.

Finishers are expected to pass the finish line as early as 10am. The cut off time is 12.15pm.

Runners will set off next to Green Park before heading towards Piccadilly Circus Station. Various iconic landmarks will be passed – including a section running alongside the River Thames – runners will make their way past Downing Street and across the finish line.

Water and aid stations will be available at 6.25km and 8.75km. Course marshals dressed in pink hi-vis will be on hand to help anyone in need of assistance.

Bib collection

If runners have opted for collection, they must pick up their bibs from the Sweaty Betty Street store. Collection is available from 12pm to 7pm from Tuesday, July 8, to Friday, July 11, and 10am to 6pm on Saturday, July 12.

Otherwise, participants should have received their bibs in the post.

Where to watch?

Family and friends supporting their loved ones will be able to track their progress along the route via the tracking link on the Saucony London 10k website. Each kilometre will be signposted to help you plan where to be to spot your runner.

A lineup of live bands and DJ’s will be dotted along the route, with performers like DJ Chrystilize, DrumWorks and West End Musical Choir keeping participants energised and electrified for the remainder of their run.

Saucony will set up cheer points along the route in collaboration with local run clubs, like Your Friendly Runners who will be at Embankment with a DJ truck and a speed camera.

How to get there

The easiest way to get to the event will be via the Tube to Charing Cross, Embankment, Victoria, St James’ Park or Westminster station.

Driving or cycling should be avoided, due to road closures around the route starting as early as 5:00. These closures include Santander cycling docks along the route, which will be suspended for the day.
