A man has been charged with the murder of Tyler Hayward in Chingford following his arrest at the Port of Dover. Peshman Ahmedi, of no fixed abode, is accused of stabbing the 26-year-old to death outside the Kings Ford pub on Chingford Mount Road on Sunday, July 6.
The 22-year-old was taken into custody in Kent two days later and has now been charged in connection to Tyler’s death. He is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court later today (July 10).
A murder investigation was launched after members of the public waived down patrolling police officers just before 9.15pm. Paramedics were called but Tyler died from his stab injuries at the scene.
Paying tribute, his family called him a dearly loved person who won’t be forgotten. A statement reads: “We are struggling with the tragic loss of Tyler, a beautiful soul with the kindest of hearts.
“A much-loved son, grandson and brother, that will be missed immensely. We would appreciate privacy at this time whilst we come to terms with our loss.”
They are now being supported by specialist officers from the Metropolitan Police.
Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Woodsford, who is leading the investigation from the force’s Specialist Crime Command, previously said: “Since Sunday we have been making extensive inquiries and this resulted in searches being carried out at the Port of Dover today (July 8)
“I’d like to thank Kent Police and other agencies for their support as we carried out these checks, as well as members of the public who were disrupted while this vital work took place.”
