A 24-year-old man has died after a stabbing outside a luxury hotel in Knightsbridge last night (July 9). Police were called to The Park Tower, opposite department store Harvey Nichols, just before 9.30pm.

The victim was found on Seville Street and treated by paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance, but was pronounced dead shortly after. His next-of-kin are aware and are now being supported by specialist officers.

Distressing footage claiming to show the aftermath of the stabbing shows a woman attempting to stem the blood flow from the victim’s chest wound. The man was then given CPR as horrified and screaming witnesses watched on, The Metro reports.

A cordon remains in place this morning, with a forensics tent set up in front of the hotel and adjacent casino. No arrests have been made yet but the Metropolitan Police says it is pursuing several lines of enquiry.

Superintendent Owen Renowden, who leads policing in Kensington and Chelsea, said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones following the shocking events that took place last night. Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command, supported by local officers, are working at pace to establish the circumstances of what happened.

“We are aware of reports that this incident was a robbery. Although this is an active line of enquiry, we are keeping an open mind about all possible motives and the exact circumstances are still to be determined.”

Additional officers have been put on patrol in the area to answer any ‘questions or concerns’.

Rachel Blake, the MP for Cities of London and Westminster, said she is “shocked and saddened” by the stabbing, sharing online: “I understand that this will be deeply distressing for the residents and visitors to the Knightsbridge area. Please do reach out to me if you have any concerns at this time, and I will continue to monitor the news closely.”

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101, quoting reference CAD 8521/09JUL. Anonymous reports can also be made to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111.
