Floral tributes have been laid for the victim of a stabbing in Knightsbridge, reportedly naming him as Blue Stevens. Witnesses say the 24-year-old was killed during a robbery in front of The Park Tower hotel just before 9.30pm last night (July 9).
He was treated by paramedics outside department store Harvey Nichols but pronounced dead at the scene. His partner has since returned to Seville Street to leave flowers, The Metro reports.
Her card, nestled amongst the growing bouquets of flowers, reads: “To My Blue, we are all absolutely devastated without you. You took a piece of my heart with you.
“A part of me has gone with you. I love you more than absolutely anyone in this world. My boy forever and always.”
Another asks that people “pray for the broken hearted”. The Metropolitan Police remain at the scene this afternoon, with detectives treating the man’s death as murder.
No one has been arrested in connection yet have but the force says it is pursuing several lines as part of the investigation. Superintendent Owen Renowden, who leads policing in Kensington and Chelsea, said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones following the shocking events that took place last night.
“Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command, supported by local officers, are working at pace to establish the circumstances of what happened. We are aware of reports that this incident was a robbery.
“Although this is an active line of enquiry, we are keeping an open mind about all possible motives and the exact circumstances are still to be determined.”
Additional officers have been put on patrol in the area to answer any ‘questions or fears’. A cordon is likely to remain on Seville Street for some time whilst queries are made.
Photos taken at the scene this morning show a forensics tent inches from the 5-star hotel’s door, with pools of blood covering the pavement.
Rachel Blake, the MP for Cities of London and Westminster, said she is “shocked and saddened” by the stabbing and is urging residents to get in touch with their concerns.
