Police are now investigating whether the death of a 24-year-old man outside a hotel in Knightsbridge on Wednesday, July 9 was a “targeted attack”. It comes as three men in their 20s have now been arrested in connection to the fatal stabbing.
Witnesses say that the victim, named Blue Stevens, was killed during a robbery in front of The Park Tower Hotel just before 9.30pm on Wednesday (July 9).
A murder investigation was launched after officers were called to reports of a stabbing in Seville Street at around 9.25pm. Mr Stevens was found with stab wounds but sadly died at the scene despite efforts from emergency services.
Detective Chief Superintendent Christina Jessah, who leads policing in Central West London, said: “These arrests mark a significant milestone in this complex and unfolding murder investigation. We continue to progress at pace. While we retain an open mind around motive, one line of enquiry is now that this may have been a targeted attack.
“Increased police patrols remain active in and around the Knightsbridge area. Please do speak with an officer if you have any questions or concerns.”
One man was arrested at an address in Hounslow on July 12 on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and remains in police custody. Another man was also arrested at the same time on suspicion of murder but he has been bailed pending further enquiries.
A third man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender on Monday, July 14 and he remains in police custody. Met officers obtained a warrant to search two properties in Chiswick where a spokesperson said significant evidence was recovered.
