Marks and Spencer has knocked a tidy £15 off a raincoat with rave reviews. Originally £49, the Daysha Waterproof Hooded Raincoat is now £34 for the burgundy colour, while the dark blue and black remain full price.
You can also get the jacket for £24 at Sports Direct, but at the time of writing there aren’t many sizes left. The raincoat is cut to a regular fit and has a popper and zip fastening.
There’s an adjustable hood within the funnel neck, and both the cuffs and hem are adjustable. The seams are taped, and there’s mesh lining.

Pocket-wise, there are two zipped ones and one on the inside. The fabric is a ‘high-tech Hydrafort’ with a peached finish for a ‘soft feel’.
Alternatively, you can try the Tan Brown Waterproof Coat, which is down to £60 from £99 at Fatface. The jacket has deep pockets and an adjustable hood.
On the cheaper side, the Unlined Shower Resistant Rain Coat is only £39.99 at New Look. It comes in five different colours and has a drawstring hood.

The Regatta coat has 4.5 stars from 87 reviews at Marks and Spencer. One person said: “I purchased this jacket as I was looking for a lightweight waterproof jacket to wear while out walking. I was worried about the sizing so checked with the size guide and bought the size 14. I needn’t have worried as it’s a perfect fit.
“It has an inside pocket which is great for carrying a phone. I have only worn it a couple of times but expect to be wearing it a lot more as the seasons change.”
Another wrote: “Brilliant. Keeps me dry in heavy rain. Lots of useful pockets.” A third shopper added: “This is going to be a really good jacket for mid season and even summer. Long enough without being bulky and a far nicer colour than it appeared on the screen.”

Of the negative comments, one person remarked: “A nice looking jacket, but on the first outing in the rain I got pretty soggy. Not waterproof, showerproof at best.”
Another agreed and wrote “For a coat that is supposed to be waterproof. It’s not. My wife wore this, and within two showers she got soaked.” But most reviews were positive, with another adding “Love this coat. Very, very waterproof. Decent depth pockets. Money well spent.”
