The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are ‘not trusted’ by the Royal Family and are ‘unlikely’ to return in a working capacity, an expert has speculated
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “unlikely” to return to the Royal Family as working members due to their bridges being “completely burnt”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex got married in 2018 and moved into Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. The couple then soon welcomed their first child, Prince Archie.
But in early 2020, the Sussexes announced that they would be stepping down from their senior roles as working royals. And mere months later, the duo set up lives for themselves and their young family in Montecito, California.

Since departing royal life and raising their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in America, the couple have spoken out several times about their time in the royal fold. A rift between the Sussexes and the monarchy is now apparent, which follows on from the couple speaking out in televised interviews, Netflix documentaries and bombshell books.
And now a public relations guru, who specialises in royal commentary, has weighed in on whether it’s likely that the Sussexes will ever return to royal life, which comes as the King and the Princess of Wales both undergo treatment following their cancer diagnoses.
“It’s doubtful that Meghan and Harry will return to the Royal Family as working Royals, even with Charles and Kate undergoing treatment for cancer,” Lynn Carratt from Press Box PR told us in an exclusive chat.
She went on to say: “The monarchy at the moment is being led by Camilla, which, a few years ago we never believed we’d see, Prince Edward and Sophie (a favourite of the late Queen Elizabeth), the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, have stepped up their support for the Queen.”
Lynn then noted how Princess Anne, “year after year, always carries out the most public engagements”, noting how she “can’t see that slowing anytime soon, especially while her brother is ill”.
“The bridges have been burnt between Harry and Meghan in terms of becoming working members of the Royal family, the family doesn’t think they can trust them,” Lynn noted, adding that “they’ll also never be allowed to work part-time as royals while splitting their time between the UK and America and doing it on their terms”.
“It was refused before, and I can’t see that being any different now,” she added.
Lynn concluded her expert analysis by adding: “While Harry is now trying to build family bridges with his father and his brother and his sister-in-law in terms of a family relationship, the past arguments that have ensued in public and the gulf is still deep from them and this would affect them coming back to the work to become working Royals.”
