A pregnant woman has shared a picture of the cruel note that was left on her car by an angry neighbour – simply because she parked in a space outside her own home
Parking rows are common among neighbours, but this profanity-filled note takes road rage too far.
If you live in an area with free-for-all roadside parking, you’ll know that it can sometimes be a nightmare trying to find a space close to your own home when everyone else on the street has tried to do the same thing. Coming home to find an open space directly outside your front door feels like a miracle – unless you have a neighbour who likes to think they somehow deserve the spot more than you.
This is the dilemma that one woman recently found herself in after she was delighted to find a parking space outside her house, as it wasn’t long before an angry neighbour had left a cruelly worded letter on her windscreen.
The woman, from Canada, said her neighbour took issue with her parking in a spot that had been recently cleared of snow, as they said it should have been kept free for “wheelchair access, couriers, and general access”. But the anonymous woman believes she was well within her right to park there – especially as she’s heavily pregnant.
The note, which was posted on Reddit, read: “Hey bud! What the f**k is wrong with you? Why would you park in the only spot cleaned of snow for wheelchair access, couriers, and general access? The whole street is available but your overprivileged b***h a** parks here.”
After sharing a picture of the note, the woman explained her situation and slammed her neighbour for assuming she “doesn’t deserve accessibility”. She wrote: “Someone left a very unkind and assuming note on my car today. I came home this afternoon to find a spot on the street right in front of my building. The sidewalk had been cleared in this area and I was so grateful because I’m almost nine months pregnant and in my opinion, pretty deserving of accessible access. These days, I am waddling slowly, avoiding the ice as much as possible, and going through health issues.
“After some time, I went back downstairs, got in my car, and headed off. I realised there [was] a handwritten note on my [car]. I stopped, grabbed it, read it and then felt pretty darn upset. The note assumes I don’t deserve accessibility, and assumes there was other room on the street when I parked.
“They also call me a b***h which makes me wonder if I was watched? Which is even creepier. And yes – having a car is a privilege but getting a lucky spot on the street, in front of my domicile, doesn’t make me overprivileged.”
She went on to argue that her street does have a disabled parking space for people who need it, so she didn’t block wheelchair access by parking in the spot she chose.
Commenters on the post were firmly on the woman’s side, with many stating that parking a car in a public space isn’t “privileged” regardless of whether the driver of the car was pregnant or not. One person said: “This makes my blood boil. No offence, but it doesn’t matter to me that you are pregnant – it’s public parking. They can go f**k themselves.”
While another added: “Don’t ever be afraid to put you and baby to bed first. F**k this assuming ass. Hopefully, they can’t find good parking for the rest of their life,” and a third posted: “I’d say the person who assumes they have a right to a specific spot on the street is an over-privileged b***h a**.
