Aldi has more than 1,000 stores across the UK and has already pledged to increase this number to 1,500 – and you could help the supermarket decide where it should expand to next
Aldi is asking the nation to help it choose its next locations for new store openings.
The areas which have the most suggestions will then be considered by the supermarket. Aldi has more than 1,000 stores across the UK and has already pledged to increase this number to 1,500. Those who want to put their town forward to be considered should email [email protected] by May 31, explaining why they believe their area needs a new Aldi store.
Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, said: “We want to make high-quality food accessible to all, but there are still some areas that either don’t have an Aldi or have potential for more stores. We’ve identified some key places where there is demand for more stores already, but now we are calling on the public to share their views. This will be used to help inform our property search over the coming years.”
In more Aldi news, we’ve rounded up its latest early May bank holiday times. The supermarket has also just introduced two new rules for its Too Good to Go bags. Too Good to Go bags are packed with discounted food that is approaching their sell-by or use-by dates, with the aim to prevent food waste and save shoppers money.
At Aldi, a Too Good to Go back sees you get shopping worth £10 for only £3.30 with the bags containing a range of grocery products. Aldi has recently announced an extension to its collection window to reserve surplus food bags. The move will now mean customers can secure a bag up to 24 hours ahead of the collection time. Alongside this, shoppers will now be able to purchase bags on Sundays. The new changes were introduced from April 21.
