The Petiyark Neoprene Swim Vest was assessed as being dangerous for children and difficult to spot in the water

Amazon has recalled a children’s swim vest over fears it could pose a “serious risk of drowning”.

The Petiyark Neoprene Swim Vest was assessed as being dangerous for children as the buoyancy aid has “conflicting minimum or maximum sizing limits”.

Additionally, the swim vest was described as being difficult to spot in the water due to having “no bright, conspicuous colours” present.

The product was also not supplied with the required documentation to be used correctly. The Office for Product Safety and Standards says the swim vest does not meet the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on Personal Protective Equipment.

Amazon has now pulled the swim vest, which comes in two different colours, from sale. If you have purchased this item, you should contact Amazon for a refund.

A notice on the Office for Product Safety and Standards website reads: “We recommend owners stop using this product immediately. Contact the distributor you purchased from to request redress.”

For other product recalls, you can check the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Chartered Trading Standards (CTS) Institute websites. You should also notice recall notices in stores if they’ve pulled a product from shelves.

It comes after One Stop recalled packs of its own-brand Mature Cheddar & Red Onion Hand Cooked because they contain milk which is not mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk. The most common symptoms of milk intolerance include tummy pain, diarrhoea or constipation, or feeling sick.

The packs that have been recalled have the best before dates of February 17, 2026, February 18, 2026, and February 23, 2026. All other best before dates are safe to eat.

In a recall notice published online, One Stop said: “We are recalling three date codes of One Stop Mature Cheddar & Red Onion Hand Cooked Crisps 150g as they may contain milk which is not declared on the label.”

Waitrose recalled its Waitrose Indian Takeaway for two because some packs have been mispacked with spring rolls, which contain sesame and soya, and these allergens are not mentioned on the label.

Allergic reactions to sesame or soya can range from skin reactions to the swelling of the lips or face, or vomiting and diarrhea. The pack size that has been recalled is 1412g and the use by date is July 25, 2025.

Wall’s recalled two products over fears they are contaminated by salmonella. Salmonella can cause fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

The affected products are 113g packs of Wall’s The Classic Scotch Egg with a use by date of July 2, and 226g packs of Wall’s Two Classic Scotch Eggs, also with the same use by date.
