Amazon is offering 30 days of its swanky plan for free

Spotify is a top contender for music fans when it comes to streaming favourite tunes without needing to pay a penny. Downloading and skipping adverts, however, is a different story and its free service has some limits which may convince you to switch.

Especially as rival Amazon Music Unlimited is offering a huge freebie deal that’ll see listeners download and listen offline completely for free. That’s right, you won’t pay anything to do what providers like Apple Music and Spotify charge a hefty monthly fee for.

With summer playlists in full swing, the streaming site is offering 30 days free of its Unlimited service, allowing you to skip out on the £10.99 price. Plus, there’s no tie to stay locked into the plan if you decide to leave after the free trial.

Amazon Music Unlimited provides access to millions of songs, all without ads and available in high-quality formats including stunning HD and Spatial Audio. Users can also tap into their favourite drive-time radio station and top streaming playlists… maybe just in time for a last summer picnic with friends.

Plus, a winning feature is that every piece of content uploaded to the streaming site has spatial audio. This will transform the quality of your favourite tune to sound more immersive and give off a three-dimensional sound – almost like you were at a concert.

Amazon Music Unlimited also has audio in HD, this is one of the highest quality ways you can listen and is also the tech packed into high-end pairs of earphones. As Amazon states: “This lets you hear music the way the artist intended, with more clarity, richness, and raw emotion.”

To get the most out of this snazzy feature there are a few things you’ll need on your device though. Starting with an all-important amount of data, you’ll need speeds of 1.5Mbps or higher. Next up is the frequency on your device, to get the most for your money you’ll want an iPhone 4s or newer (2010, so this will be most users) as it needs a 16bit or 44.1kHz supporting device.

And lastly, the pair of plug-in or Bluetooth wireless speakers or headphones you pick will need to have a dynamic range of 20kHz+ to enable the HD listening feature. For earphone shoppers, we recommend the Apple AirPod Pros, Galaxy Buds 3, or a pair from Bose.

Alternatively, music fans can turn to rival streamers for similar deals, however, none are currently offering a similar 30-day free trial as we speak. Apple Music costs £9.99 per month and Spotify fans can unlock its Premium plan included in an EE contract. Other streaming sites we’d recommend is Apple TV+ and Disney+.
