Apple has just announced the launch of a swathe of new devices but one popular product is being sent to the history books.
It was a big week for Apple with the US technology giant announcing the release of a swathe of new iPads including its most powerful and thinest Pro model ever. These skinny gadgets are also joined by two new iPad Air tablets with Apple now bringing a bigger 13-inch device to its line-up.
You can read all the news from Apple’s iPad “Let Loose” event here but like all good things life something has to come to an end.
A quick trip to Apple’s website reveals that the firm has finally removed its classic 9th Gen device from its line-up. This ageing tablet is the last to feature a Touch ID fingerprint scanner and original design with more chunky bezels around the screen.
Although this device was looking very dated, it did offer a cheaper way of owning an iPad but those now heading to the Apple Store in the hope of a bargain will be sorely disappointed.
Luckily, there does appear to still be some stock in the UK with stores including Amazon still selling the iPad 9th Gen. Right now, you can pick this device up for under £300 although don’t expect these deals to last forever as once they are gone, they will be gone for good.
As a quick reminder, the iPad 9th Gen features a 10.2-inch screen, A13 Bionic processor under the hood, Stereo speakers 10 hour battery and full compatibility with the Apple Pencil.

If that device looks a little past its best there is some better news from Apple with the US technology giant confirming a massive price cut to its 10th Gen iPad.
This all-screen device gets a more expansive 10.9-inch LED backlit Multi‑Touch display, powerful A14 Bionic processor and a fingerprint scanner tucked inside the power button.
It’s also compatible with the improved Apple Pencil and has Apple’s clever Centre Stage technology which follows you around the room as you make FaceTime calls.
