Awful 48 hours of crime in London with 3 stabbed and 1 shot

London has seen an awful 48 hours of crime with teens being stabbed, shootings on residential roads and marketplace brawls. A student has also been stabbed outside a university.

In a separate incident, the West London area also saw two teens, aged 18, rushed to the hospital following an alleged ‘bus fight’ yesterday (Wednesday, May 21). One of the men is thought to have suffered life-changing injuries.

Meanwhile, over in Croydon, a man in his 30s was shot on a residential road yesterday – the person responsible hasn’t yet been caught. In Hackney, a 52-year-old man has been rushed to hospital with ‘severe’ head injuries after an attack in Ridley Road market yesterday morning.

Stabbing on Brunel University campus

A man has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed on Brunel University of London’s campus yesterday evening (May 21). He was attacked just outside of Fleming Hall student accommodation block, on Topping Lane, Uxbridge, just before 5.45pm. His injuries have been deemed non-life-threatening, say police.

Police believe the stabbing was an isolated incident with no threat to the wider community. No one has been arrested in connection at this stage.

Teens, 18, stabbed during ‘fight on West London bus’

Two 18-year-olds are in hospital after being stabbed during an alleged fight on a bus through Uxbridge in the early hours of yesterday morning (Wednesday, May 21). One of them has been left with life-changing injuries.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing at the Uxbridge Road and Harlington Road junction after an alleged bus fight at around 12am. Both of the teenagers have also been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

Shooting in Croydon

A man was shot in Croydon yesterday evening (Wednesday, May 21) – with armed police rushing to the scene on Walsh Crescent, New Addington.

There, a man in his 30s was found with gunshot wounds shortly after 7.25pm. His injuries are neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

No arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident.

Hackney market brawl sees man, 52, left with ‘severe’ head injuries

A 52-year-old man has been left fighting for his life following a fight at Hackney’s Ridley Road Market this morning (Wednesday, May 21). He is in a critical condition after he was rushed to hospital from the Dalston market with severe head injuries at around 7.15am.

Two men, aged 32 and 36, have since been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They remain in custody, according to a statement issued by the Metropolitan Police this evening.
