The supermarket giant is offering a huge discount on 1L bottles of Baileys just in time for Christmas
Just in time for the festive period, Tesco is offering the lowest price of the year on 1L bottles of Baileys — but there’s a small requirement shoppers need to be aware of. Baileys is renowned for its velvety combination of cream, luxurious whiskey and chocolate notes.
It has remained a Christmas staple for years, whether sipped neat, served over ice or used as the key component in festive drinks and puddings. With the holiday season rapidly approaching, this offer arrives at the perfect moment for those wanting to mix cocktails, prepare seasonal treats or present a bottle to loved ones. From tomorrow, savvy shoppers can take advantage of major reductions, though the deal will only run for a short period, and you must take one extra action before checkout.
What does the offer include?
A Tesco representative revealed: “Starting tomorrow on Tuesday, November 18, Tesco are slashing prices of 1L Baileys down to the cheapest price it’s been all year. Running until December 8, shoppers in store and online can pick up a bottle for £11 when using a Clubcard, saving 51% (£11.50 saving).”
The special offer will be available for slightly more than three weeks, launching on Tuesday, November 18 and running through until Monday, December 8.
In England and Wales, customers will need a a Clubcard to buy a bottle for £11, a significant markdown from the standard price of £22.50. Meanwhile, in Scotland, the promotion will be available with the Clubcard price standing at £11.05.
If you’re a fan of Baileys but fancy trying your hand at some new cocktails, Tesco has revealed its scrumptious and creamy espresso martini recipe, which goes down a treat with Baileys.
Here’s how to whip up Tesco’s Irish cream espresso martini recipe
Ingredients
- 50ml Tesco Irish Cream Liqueur (or Baileys Irish Cream)
- 80ml strong espresso coffee
- 80ml vodka
- agave syrup, to taste
- Six espresso beans (optional garnish)
Method
Start by popping two cocktail glasses in the freezer for a cool and refreshing tipple. While they’re chilling, half-fill a shaker with ice, then pour in the Irish cream liqueur, coffee, and vodka.
For a touch of sweetness, add a teaspoon of agave syrup. Give it a good shake for at least 30 seconds, then strain into the chilled glasses.
Top each one off with three espresso beans as garnish, and serve.
