BBC Weather forecasts much wetter start to July after soaring 32C heat

Temperatures are set to dip a bit in July after blistering 32C temperatures recently, say forecasters down at the BBC. The forecast shows two showers within week one of next month, on Tuesday, July 1, and Friday, July 4.

This will be a very humbling return to moderate temperatures, especially after the recent heatwave we’ve had, which led to The Met Office and UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) issuing a joint weather warning. However it won’t be completely terrible, with temperature expected to hover around the mid 20 mark.

The tumultuous British weather continues. The July forecast can be found below.

London weather in July

  • Tuesday, July 1 – H23C L13C, light rain showers and light winds.

  • Wednesday, July 2 – H23C L13C, sunny and a gentle breeze.

  • Thursday, July 3 – H23C L15C, sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.

  • Friday, July 4 – H22C L14C, heavy rain and a gentle breeze.

  • Saturday, July 5 – H23C L15C, light cloud and a gentle breeze.

What does The Met Office say?

The UK national forecaster’s long range forecast running up to Saturday, July 5, says it could be ‘very warm’.

It reads: “Whilst some rain or showers will be possible farther south and east, here longer drier spells are more likely, under the influence of higher pressure.

“There is also the chance of some occasional very warm weather, as south or southwesterly winds allow brief bursts of hotter air to encroach from the continent, but probably fairly short-lived and perhaps also accompanied by a few thunderstorms at times.”
