Black mould can be a nightmare to clean and poses a serious threat to your health. Luckily, fans of cleaning guru Mrs Hinch have found the perfect solution to shift spores and stop them from returning

Fans of cleaning guru Mrs Hanch are raving about an ‘awesome’ product they claim is guaranteed to banish black mould.

Many Brits are stuck in a perpetual struggle to keep their house warm and dry without letting the energy bills spiral. Consequently, it’s not uncommon to spot mould forming on the windowsills and in damp areas of the home.

But these spores aren’t just unsightly but can cause a slew of health issues, especially among children and those with existing respiratory problems, such as mould toxicity. This may result in headaches, itchy eyes, sinus problems, brain fog, and many more unwanted symptoms.

Luckily, avid cleaners have found the perfect solution that doesn’t cost a fortune…

Taking to the Mrs Hinch Cleanings Tips Facebook page, which boasts more than 410,000 members, one woman named Amy revealed she’d been struggling with black mould in her house. “Best products to remove it and try to prevent it from coming back?” she asked. “It comes back worse every winter.”

Many users suggested The Kilrock Mould Remover spray – arguing it works better than any other cleaning products. “Killrock from Home Bargains is the best stuff I’ve had, but it does strip paint off as it’s that strong,” one person commented.

The Kilrock Mould Remover spray is available from a slew of supermarkets and online retailers including The Range, which is currently selling a 500ml bottle for £1.99 – and has a number of five-star reviews.

“This product is amazing…not only does it kill mould it also bleaches,” one person said. “My shower tiles were getting a little grimy and no amount of scrubbing or limescale remover helped… Leave this product on for 25-30 minutes and the grout is whiter than the rest of my tiled bathroom now.” Another agreed, saying their window frames came up ‘bright white’ after leaving the product on for just five minutes.

“I’ve since used it on our taps, shower, windows, basically everywhere I can,” they added. “It’s just awesome!”

Other products that were highly praised include the HG Mould Spray, which costs £6 from Wickes, and the Astonish Mould and Mildew Blaster, which is just £1.50 in Sainsbury’s. If you’re looking for a more natural method to get rid of mould, some users suggested white vinegar.

“I had this in a conservatory when I was renting,” one person wrote. “I used white vinegar to wash it down then soaked kitchen towels in white vinegar and left it over overnight and it was gone and didn’t return.” You can pick up a one-litre bottle from Morrisons for only 99p.
