Beyoncé’s bombshell first night at Tottenham Stadium was a roaring success yesterday as the Cowboy Carter Tour came to roost in London. The crowd went into overdrive as a choir of 13 gospel singers came out to deliver the opening aria of ‘American Requiem’ before Bey herself marched upon the stage.

Powerfully buttressed in a cowboy hat and boots, corset and fringed white chaps, Beyoncé looked every inch the embodiment of Cowboy Carter as the opening number riffed from country to rhythm & blues and then to rock in the first genre-bashing anthem from the album, which has won three Grammys for Best Country Album and Album of the Year, as well as Best Country Duo/Group Performance for ‘ II Most Wanted’, a duet with Miley Cyrus.

Unsurprisingly, the set list featured almost all of Cowboy Carter’s 23 songs, with only a few missing – the Willie Nelson duet Smoke Hour II and ‘The Linda Martell Show’. There were a few covers – The Beatles’ ‘Blackbird and Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’, while several of Beyoncé’s best-known hits – ‘Crazy In Love’, ‘Single Ladies’ and ‘Why Don’t You Love Me’ were reconfigured into mashups with other songs.

A powerful host

Fans queued in the rain outside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but in spite of the inclement weather, the atmosphere couldn’t have been further from drab – with one reviewer saying Beyonce ‘runs stadiums into giant nightclubs’ . Not every seat was sold although commentators suggest it was a near sellout with the most expensive seating close to the stage almost completely swarmed with spectators.

As she sang a cover of The Beatles’ song ‘Blackbird’, Beyoncé told the crowd: London you’re so beautiful. I feel so honoured to be standing on this stage. I’d like to say thank you all for so much support over so many years, I love you and I thank you.

“This is dedicated to all the beautiful black birds who came before me, who opened doors for me. I’d like us all to have a good time tonight, the rain ain’t going to stop us. If you know the words to ‘Blackbird’, I want to hear you sing.”

Sites such as viagogo, Stubhub, and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that ticket conditions often prohibit resale after initial purchase. Those tickets may not be valid for admittance to gigs.

Fans intending to buy tickets for live events through resale websites should check the ticket terms and conditions, to confirm whether resale is prohibited, before they buy. Ticket terms and conditions can be checked with the original seller, such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation. If resale is prohibited, tickets bought second-hand could be voided and admission to the event refused.

How to buy Beyoncé tickets now

Beyoncé tickets were first released earlier this year, with countless fans flocking to websites such as Ticketmaster and Live Nation to get their fix. Resale websites currently have the best stock of tickets available.

These websites, including viagogo, StubHub and Vivid Seats, give fans the chance to buy their most ideal tickets at the drop of a hat. That means avoiding any kind of online queues and surge pricing. In fact, some Beyoncé tickets are available at the time of writing on viagogo for around £80. That’s cheaper than some of the tickets’ face-value prices.

Many fans will not want to purchase tickets from resale websites, however, and that’s more than reasonable. Thankfully, some official retailers still have a bounty of tickets available – if you know where to look.

One of the websites with the most reliable stock of tickets is Seat Unique. The VIP and hospitality-focused website gives fans the chance to see Beyoncé with added bonuses.

Whether that’s all you can eat and drink, early access, after-parties, premium seating, box views, or goodie bags, Seat Unique has it all covered. Here’s the link:

Finally, fans can also still look at major retailer Ticketmaster for tickets. While this website sold out of certain tickets upon release day, there may still be some available up to the gigs in question.
