What does The Met say?
A Met Police spokesperson said: “At around 1.35am on Sunday, July 20, police and London Ambulance Service attended to a report of a road traffic collision in Bow. A car left the carriageway and collided with a building at the junction of Roman Road and St Stephen’s Road.
“One of the passengers in the car was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car and another passenger – two men in their twenties – suffered injuries which have been confirmed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
“They have both been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. A crime scene remains in the area whilst specialist officers complete their enquires, which are ongoing.
“Please call police on 101 with the reference 615/20Jul if you were a witness or have any footage including dashcam.”
