Yeray Sanchez-Morales, 17, was stabbed to death on Old Kent Road
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a teenager outside a McDonalds on Old Kent Road. It marks the fifth arrest in connection with the killing of Yeray Sanchez-Morales, aged 17.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with murder, grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article. He is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 11 September.
Two boys, both aged 17, were found with stab injuries on Old Kent Road at around 10.47pm after police were called there at around 10.47pm. Yeray was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition, where he later died on Wednesday, September 3. The other boy has since been discharged from hospital.
Four other boys have been charged in connection with the incident – a 15-year-old boy was charged with murder, grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon, a 16-year-old boy charged with the same offences and two 17-year-olds also charged with the same offences. The 15-year-old appeared at the Old Bailey while the other four all appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 8.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to the incident, including anyone who was driving and may have dash cam footage which can be uploaded here. Alternatively, information can be shared with police by calling 101 quoting CAD 8387/27AUG, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
