Detectives from the Metropolitan Police have vowed to bring the culprits of a deadly shooting to justice, following the fatal tragedy which took place in Peckham on Wednesday.
Reports of a shooting first emerged on Wednesday July 10, after Police were called by London Ambulance Service (LAS) at 4.54pm to reports of an injured man at East Surrey Grove, SE15. Emergency services including officers, paramedics and the air ambulance raced to the scene to help the victim, and upon arrival discovered that a 20-year-old man had been shot multiple times.
Treated on scene, he was later taken to hospital in a critical condition, but tragically died just one day later on Thursday July 11 as a result of his injuries. His family have since been notified and are being supported by specially trained officers to process their loss.

At this early stage in the investigation, there have been no arrests made and a crime scene continues to remain in place while detectives gather evidence and investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting.
As a result, the detectives in charge of the case have issued an appeal to members of the public who may have been in the area at the time, and urged them to come forward with any information that may help bring the culprits to justice.
Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila from the Specialist Crime Command said: “We have just been informed of this tragic development, and our thoughts are with his family.
“I would like to repeat just how vital it is for anyone who saw anything suspicious, or perhaps witnessed the shooting or have footage, to please get in touch and share it with us.”
In light of the incident and the understandable concern it has sparked among local residents, DCI Gammampila also confirmed that police patrols have been stepped up in the area to provide reassurance to members of the public in the wake of the incident.
Detective Chief Superintendent Seb Adjei-Addoh, local policing commander in Southwark and Lambeth, said: “This is a tragic and needless loss of life. My thoughts are with the man’s family as they come to terms with this awful news. We will do everything we can to bring those responsible to justice.”
