ABBA Voyage isn’t just digital avatars and modern tricks but a joyful celebration of a band that defies time to bring the magic of 1979 to a new generation
It’s two years since ABBA Voyage landed in East London like a spaceship from the 1970s – but it’s still the most fun you can have in London this summer.
It has nostalgia, dazzling fancy dress and a party atmosphere that welcomes date-nighters as well as groups celebrating everything from hen dos to 60th birthdays. Entering the purpose-built arena at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, there are plenty of bars and food options to get you ready for the show.
The sheer organisation of the place stands out and helps you enjoy a stress-free evening with no troublesome queues for the bar or difficulty getting in and out. On a sweltering hot midsummer night in the city, it really makes a difference.
You breeze in, get yourself a cold drink and soak in the atmosphere. And now the experience has levelled up again for the summer season with the launch of Voyage DJ Sessions every Friday until 30th August. DJs including Scott Mills, Huns N’ Roses and Jack Guinness are spinning tunes to get the party started with guest DJ sessions ahead of the concert.

It’s worth getting down early just to enjoy the party as the crowd peppered with wannabe Agnetha and Anni-Frids drift in and warm up for a night of singing and dancing. Before stepping into the ‘time travel tunnel’ for the unique show.
The show itself is breathtaking and will give any ABBA fan goosebumps as the band seamlessly perform onstage. The staging has all the bells and whistles of a modern concert with beautiful musical arrangement, visuals, lighting and effects adding to the experience. But it’s Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid themselves who are the real stars as their digital avatars perform all the moves and vocals just as they did in their prime.
The show also has moments of comedy as the band interact with the crowd and the avatars are both flawless and mesmerising to watch while also being startlingly human. One thing is for sure, ABBA’s legacy is in safe hands and the crowd will be chanting ‘Thank You for the Music’ for many months to come. Go while you can.
ABBA Voyage is now booking until May 2025. For information and best availability of tickets go to www.abbavoyage.com
