A woman has been left furious after her cousin had a furious outburst over her decision to not have children at her wedding – including hers – leaving their relationship scarred
A bride has been sworn at by a guest who went on rampage after learning her wedding is child-free.
A wedding is meant to be the most special day of a couple’s lives. But before the happy pair get to say ‘I do’, a lot of organising goes into the big day. Deciding a wedding guest list is never easy and it can often cause riot between friends, family members, and any potential plus ones.
But the reality is that with a capacity limit at the majority of wedding venues, some tough decisions have to be made. And while it can lead to some awkwardness with those who thought they’d be invited – no one wants anyone to ruin their special day. One bride was left flabbergasted when her cousin could not respect her wishes and explained why her children could not attend her wedding.
The bride calmly explained over the phone to her cousin that she and her husband-to-be were planning their wedding, but they wanted it to be an adults-only event. The bride was happy for her cousin to come, but not her niece and nephew – leaving her family member less than impressed.
The incident was shared on TikTok page @ultimatebykomi recently as the bride shared their conversion. The bride told her cousin: “We’ve just decided as a couple, we don’t want kids there and that’s just going to have to be the end of it. It is our day at the end of the day and it’s going to run how we want it to run.”
The annoyed mum said: “But they’re not even badly behaved kids though. They’re old enough to know better and they behave.”
The bride added: “I know they do in the most part, but sometimes they kind of act up a little bit – I just don’t want that to be the case.” The guest explained that a lot of weddings provide colouring books or entertainment for kids. “We’re just not going to have that,” the bride explained.
The annoyed mum also said she thought her daughter would be a flower girl. She told her cousin she had bought one of her children a dress from Monsoon for the occasion, and a suit for her son. She also said she claims to have gone shoe shopping for the occasion – despite not receiving an invitation yet.
The bride pointed out that while had considered her daughter to be one of the flower girls, she and her partner agreed they didn’t want children running around at their wedding. The heated conversation left the bride telling her not to come. “If you don’t want to you don’t have to come because the kids aren’t allowed,” she said.
The cousin added: “It’s not a case of not wanting to come I never said for one minute that I didn’t want to come.” The woman asked what would happen if she turns up with her children, and the bride said: “If you bring them, I’m telling you, you won’t be allowed in.”
The furious mum responded and said: “You know what, we just won’t come. F*** off.”
