A group of men sexually assaulted several teenage girls and a woman on the London Underground last month. They boarded a Piccadilly line train at Heathrow Terminal 5 station at around 6.10pm on Tuesday, June 10.
They then violated the woman and girls before alighting at Knightsbridge station in Central London. They would have been on the Tube for around 50 minutes.
The British Transport Police (BTP) is now appealing for information that will lead to an arrest. Detectives have released a CCTV screenshot of a man they want to speak to as they believe he may be vital to their investigation.
The image shows a dark-skinned man with short black hair and a slight beard. He is wearing black sunglasses and a black jacket with a white logo on the sleeve.
Anyone who recognises him is urged to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 289 of 10 June. Anonymous reports can also be made to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111 or the charity’s website.
A BTP statement reads: “Detectives investigating a series of sexual assaults on board a train at Knightsbridge Underground station have today released this image in connection. At around 6.10pm on 10 June, a group of men boarded a Piccadilly line train at Heathrow Terminal 5 Underground station.
“While on the train, they sexually assaulted several teenage girls and an adult woman. They then got off the train at Knightsbridge Underground station. Detectives believe the man in the image may have information which could help their investigation.”
