Cadbury fans are still calling for the return of a cult-favourite chocolate bar more than a decade after it was axed. Now, the chocolate giant has responded to pleading fans, who say they are ‘heartbroken’ the product was discontinued
Chocolate lovers were left ‘heartbroken’ after Cadbury axed a popular bar more than a decade ago – and are still pleading for its return.
The chocolate giant has said farewell to several cult favourites over the last few years – from the Dairy Milk Peanut Caramel Crisp to the delectable Wispa Gold Hot Chocolate. However, one particular chocolate bar is still being raved about – despite not being seen on shelves since 2009.
The Cadbury Dairy Milk Mint Crisps was a true icon, and fans flocked to social media to mourn when the company announced it had been discontinued. Now, Cadbury has responded to calls to bring the chocolate back.
“I’m heartbroken! my favourite British candy bar (dairy milk mint chips) has been discontinued!!! whyyyyyyy?” one user fumed back in 2009. Two years later another wrote: “Cadbury, please bring back the Dairy Milk with mint chips.” While a third added: “I still get so sad that Cadbury discontinued Dairy Milk Mint Chips bar.”
Calls for the bar to return are still circulating on social media, and fans refuse to accept the loss. Earlier this month, one fan asked: “Cadbury, When will we get these bad boys back? They are very much missed.”
However, Cadbury responded to the post – shutting down any hopes of a resurrection. “We understand your love for this product, but currently, there are no plans to reintroduce it,” the company said. “We do, however, have lots of chocolatey treats to try.”

Last month, Cadbury came under fire after eagle-eyed shoppers noticed something different about the iconic Wispa chocolate bar. Taking to X, one fan asked: “Can you explain how Wispa bars are more expensive and half the size? One or the other, surely.”
Cadbury later confirmed the Wispa bars have decreased in size, pointing the blame at rising ingredient costs such as cocoa and sugar. “Making changes to the weight of our products is always a last resort, however, costs across our supply chain have risen steeply,” the company said.
“Core ingredients we heavily rely on, like cocoa and sugar are a lot more expensive, while the cost of energy, packaging, and transport also remain high. This means that our products continue to be much more expensive to make and so, to keep our treats affordable, we have needed to make small changes to slightly reduce the weight of some of our products.”
