Ferry operators P&O Ferries, Irish Ferries and DFDS have cancelled, delayed or rerouted sailings due to the national dispute

Ferry passengers heading from Calais to Dover are facing severe delays and cancellations due to a strike at the French port, sparked by a national row over pension reforms.

Major ferry operators including P&O Ferries, Irish Ferries, and DFDS have been forced to cancel, delay, or reroute their services. Early on Friday, P&O Ferries alerted its customers: “Our check-in is currently suspended. Rest assured if you miss your booked departure, we will get you on the next available.”

The company also advised travellers to use the loo before reaching the port, bring snacks, and prepare for potential delays upon arrival.

Meanwhile, Irish Ferries has scrapped at least four of its sailings today, and DFDS has diverted all its journeys from Calais to Dunkirk, located about 30 miles east.
